KING'S COLLEGE SOCCER HOSTING EASTERN

WILKES-BARRE -- Eastern forward Jill DiRenzo lead her team with two goals in a 6-0 win over the Lady Monarchs Saturday night at Betzler fields, where the Eagles managed 27 shots on the night.

Kristine Zeiset started the Eastern scoring when she slipped through the defense and received a pass from Allison Inch, scoring at 18:12. The next goal would come from a penalty kick off the foot off Kara Neef at 33:47 in the first half. King's would play solid defense to finish out the first half down 2-0.

The Lady Monarchs continued their tough play until 65:26 when Ashley Hackman would go one-on-one with the goalkeeper and put the ball to the left of Rachel Donatiello. DiRenzo would score her first goal of the night two minutes later at 67:52 as she and Ashley Hackman went two-on-one with a defender and sent the ball into the net.

DiRenzo/Hackman would strike again at 72:53, this time with DiRenzo making a long run down the left side of the field and Hackman would send the ball across for the finish. Tess Beckwith would finish the scoring for the night after taking a breakaway and scoring unassisted.

Donatiello stood strong in the net, withstanding a barrage of shots, and coming away with 10 saves in the match.

The Lady Monarchs will be on the road when they travel to Aston to face Neumann College on October 9. Game time is set for 4:00pm
