MEN'S SOCCER FIGHTS FROM THREE DOWN TO FORDGE TIE
CENTER VALLEY, PA--- To finish out a very long regular season, having played in seven overtime games, the Monarchs found themselves tied 3-3 against DeSales University again at the end of 110 minutes of soccer.
With the tie, King's finds themselves at 13-1-5 overall and while finishing with a 3-1-4 Freedom Conference record. DeSales finishes their season at 6-12-1 and 2-5-1 in the conference. DeSales came to play, scoring three first-half goals. Andrew Marshall scored the Bulldogs' first goal at 12:23 with an assist from Dustin Sturm. DeSales would put another one in at 24:49, this time off the foot of David Ackley, with help from German Reyes. The Bulldogs would find the goal once more before halftime when Matthew Germscheid buried a shot after getting a pass from Sturm, his second assist of the game. DeSales looked to run away with it, up 3-0 at the half.
But the Monarchs came out in the second half on fire when
Mark Timko scored his seventh goal of the year, giving
Cameron Audette and
Ryan Symons credit for the assist. Audette would find the goal at 74:16 and move the Monarchs to within one goal of the tie. Symons would knot the game 3-3 when he scored at 81:15 receiving a pass from Joe Bender.
