WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS 2-1 AT DESALES

CENTER VALLEY, PA--- Freshman forward Becky Chateauneuf capped her solid rookie campaign with a goal in a 2-1 loss to DeSales University Saturday afternoon. With the loss, King's finishes their season 3-15-1 overall and 1-7 in the Freedom conference. DeSales improved to 8-8 and 5-3 in the conference.
The Lady Monarchs found themselves down early in the game when DeSales midfielder Emily LaDuke found the back of the net just 6:58 into the contest, with the assists going to Amanda Fink and Jena Meaney.

The game went scoreless for almost 40 minutes before Chateauneuf buried the ball at 42:58. That goal proved to be the last one for the Lady Monarchs this season, and it was Chateuaneuf's 11th on the year. Fellow freshman Jade Zuniga was credited with the assist. With the score knotted at 1-1, the teams went into halftime.

Despite being out-shot 40-4, King's was able to hang in the game and weather the storm. DeSales would turn in the game-winner at 85:53 when LaDuke scored her second goal of the contest, giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 victory.

On the afternoon, junior Rachael Donatiello made 15 saves. DeSales held an 8-3 advantage in corners.
