KING'S SOFTBALL IMPROVES TO 6-0 WITH SWEEP
COCOA BEACH, FL -- The King's College softball team improved to 6-0 on the year as the Lady Monarchs posted a doubleheader sweep of Northwestern College of Michigan Tuesday in Cocoa Beach, Fl.
King's won the first game 3-0 before capturing the nightcap 2-1.
In the opener,
Kelsey Shreaves improved to 3-0 with a complete-game shutout. Shreaves scattered seven hits and struck out one batter to earn the decision.
Becky Loring went 1-for-3 with an RBI while
Leanne Harvey was 1-3 with a double.
Gretchen Tholen was also 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Abbey Knoblauch and Annie Drimones scored one run each while Sue Rocci delivered a sacrifice fly to drive in another run.
In the second game, Lindsey Hoerner tossed a complete game four-hitter to also improve to 3-0 on the year. Hoerner allowed struck out five batters and walked just two while aiding her own cause by going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Loring was also 2-for-3 while Knoblauch and Drimones both registered RBI's.
Lauren DeCreny also added a base hit while
Julie Bidwell scored one run.
