KING'S MEN'S SOCCER HOSTING EASTERN ON HOMECOMING SATURDAY, VIEW LIVESTATS


WILKES-BARRE – The King's College men's soccer team will open its conference schedule on Saturday night when the Monarchs host Eastern College at 5:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium in the Betzler Athletic Complex. The game will be a part of King's Homecoming 2009 festivities.

King's enters the matchup with a 7-2 after picking up a 5-0 victory over Keyston College on Tuesday. Joey Bender leads the team offensively, with 26 points on 10 goals and six assists. Greg DeMaio follows with eight points on three goals and two assists. George Genco adds six points on one goal and four assists. Alex Martino contributes with five points on two goals and one assist. Dan Horn and Rob McGuiness both chip in with four points each. Andrew O'Shura has recorded 419:00 minutes in net so far for the Monarchs tallying 17 saves for a 0.21 goals against average.

Eastern is off to a 4-5 start as it opens up league play after picking up a 3-0 victory over Centenary on Tuesday. Drew Bixler leads the team in scoring with nine points on four goals and one assist. Terry Fry adds six points on two goals and two assists. Kyle Hurst and Ryan Rohrer both contribute with five points each. Ben Faro contributes with four points on two goals. Jon Crowder has recorded 675:00 minutes in net for the Eagles making 23 saves for a 1.08 GAA.
