Reilly, who won the Metropolitan title as a freshman, entered the tournament as the third seed despite his status as a defending champion in the weight class he won a year ago.
The Monarchs standout proved his worth with three dominating victories, capped by a championship 17-7 major decision over York's top-seeded Ryan Tomason, the 10th ranked wrestler nationally in Division III by the National Wrestling Coaches Association and eighth by D3Wrestle.com.
Reilly opened the tournament with a bye, then registered a 16-0 technical fall over Charles Cannello of Centenary in the quarterfinals. In a huge semi-final matchup, Reilly posted an impressive 11-2 major decision over second-seeded Greg Osgoodby of the College of New Jersey in a rematch of the 2008 championship match won by Reilly.
Reilly now advances to the NCAA Division III National Championships slated for March 6-7 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Wilkinson, seeded first at 184, opened up by pinning Luke Genovese of Scranton in 0:33. In the semi-finals, Wilkinson was upset 6-5 by fourth-seeded Buddy Gougher of Wilkes in a riding time criteria in overtime. The loss relegated Wilkinson to the consolation bracket where he remained alive with a 4-2 overtime win over Naum Shuminov of New York University. Wilkinson then earned a 7-1 decision over York's Chris Elliott in the consolation finals to lock up third-place.
Rash, seeded third at heavyweight, received a first-round bye, then fell to sixth-seeded Adam Koziol of the College of New Jersey by a score of 12-6. Rash then advanced in the consolation round with a 7-0 decision over Dan Hyderbrand of Hunter, before posting a 7-1 decision over Shane Cooley of York. In the consolation finals, Rash fell again to Kozial of the College of New Jersey, but by fall in 2:46 to finish in fourth place.
At 125-pounds, King's unseeded freshman Mike Tabasco was pined in his opening round match by Wilkes' Shaun Farnham in 1:43. In the consolations, Tabasco scored a 3-2 decision over Dan Franke of the College of New Jersey, before being eliminated on a 14-2 decision to Jerrid Hartman of York.
In the 133-pound class, Monarch rookie Anthony Dietrick received a first-round bye before falling to second-seeded Kyle Flickinger of York by pin in 6:30. At 141, King's third-seeded junior Tony Miele received a first-round bye, then dropped a 3-2 semi-final decision to sixth-seeded Bill Tenpenny of the College of New Jersey. In the consolations, Miele rebounded by pinning Jarrod Cawley of Elizabethtown in 4:31 but was eliminated in his next bout by York's Taylor Lum by a 6-5 margin
In the 149-pound class, Monarch fifth-seeded junior Frankie Davis received a first-round bye, then fell in the semi-finals by a 4-3 count to fourth-seeded Albert Gleichauf of York. In the consolations, Davis advanced by pinning Ronald Cuff of Elizabethtown in 4:32, but was eliminated on a 3-0 decision by Centenary's John Stillo in his next match.
At 165, King's unseeded sophomore Jerry Robbins dropped an 8-1 decision to unseeded Steve Glickman of Scranton. He was then eliminated in his first consolation match by a 12-3 count to fifth-seeded James Histed of Wilkes.
The Monarchs' fifth place finish was partially due to King's competing in the event with only eight wrestlers as junior Taylor Green (13-3) at 157-pounds, and senior Zach Martinez (8-5) at 197, who were both injured and unable to compete.
