King's Women's Soccer Drops Opener to Farmingdale

KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER DROPS SEASON OPENER TO SUNY-FARMINGDALE
 
WILKES-BARRE --  Jamie Smith scored two goals to lead the visiting SUNY-Farmingdale women's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over King's College in the season-opener for both teams.

 Theresa Martorano opened the scoring at 11:48 before Smith gave the Rams a 2-0 halftime lead at the 25:27 mark. Melissa Elie, Smith, and Alexandra Scuderi added second half goals to secure the victory.

Farmingdale outshot King's 26-5 while the Lady Monarchs had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. King's starting goal Rachael Donatiell made four saves while Melissa D'Aniello added one save in relief for the Lady Monarchs.

King's returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the University of Rochester Invitational in Rochester, NY. King's faces SUNY New Paltz in the opening round.
