KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS 4-0 AT MANHATTANVILLE COLLEGE IN FREEDOM MATCH
PURCHASE, NY -- Holly Nonis scored three goals as host Manhattanville College posted a 4-0 victory over King's College in Freedom Conference play Saturday afternoon.
With the loss King's drops to 1-14 overall and 0-4 in conference play, while Manhattanville improves to 2-11-1 overall, 2-1-1 in Freedom matches.
Morgan Rebollal put the Valiants on the board first at 9:57 when she found the back of the net off a cross from Regina Hayes. Nonis recorded her first goal of the contest when she broke free from the Lady Monarch defense and beat keeper Melissa D'Aniello to extend the lead to 2-0 at 19:04.
Manhattanville scored two more goals in the second frame, as Nonis scored twice from inside the box, first at 60:32 and later at 70:38 to complete the hat trick.
Manhattanville held an 18-5 shot advantage, while garnering nine corner kicks to King's two attempts. D'Aniello finished with eight saves in net for King's. Valiants goalie Ali Bromson made three saves to record the shutout.
King's will return to action Tuesday when they welcome cross-town rival Wilkes University to McCarthy Stadium for a Freedom Conference tilt scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
