KING'S MEN'S XC FINISHES 10TH AT COLONEL CLASSIC; HANNAH BESTWICK LONE RUNNER FOR WOMEN'S SQUAD

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Colonel Cross Country Classic Saturday afternoon held on the campus of Wilkes University. The men's squad took home tenth place as five Monarchs ran in the event. On the women's side, one Lady Monarch competed in the race.

On the men's side, Eric Grego was the Monarchs top finisher crossing the tape at 32:58.8, good for 40th place. Jeremy McAndrew finished 41st with a time of 33:09.3, while Chris Tobias took home 44th place at 33:38.6. Gary Schemel (51st place) finished at 36:06.3, while Steven Gerencser rounded out the Monarch runners finishing 54th with a time of 41:11.5.

For the women, Hannah Bestwick was the lone King's runner finishing with a time of 27:45.

Both teams will return to action Saturday when they travel to Center Valley, Pa. to compete at the DeSales University Cross Country Invitational. The race begins at 10:30 a.m.
