WOMEN'S SOCCER BLANKED AT LVC, 5-0
ANNVILLE, PA – Host Lebanon Valley scored four goals in the opening half, then added an insurance tally in the second frame to post a 5-0 win over King's College in women's soccer action Tuesday night.
With the loss King's slips to 1-11 overall, while Lebanon Valley sees its overall mark improve to 7-4-1.
Katie Deardoff open the scoring for Lebanon Valley when she found the back of the net just 1:28 into the contest. Lindi Crist would extend the lead to 2-0 when she put home a crossing pass from Sara Drabenstadt at the 9:21 mark. Nicole Snyder and Taylor Saraiva both tallied goals before the half to open up a 4-0 halftime lead.
Synder would add her second goal of the game early in the second half to seal the non-conference victory on a wet, rainy afternoon. Lady Monarch goalie Melissa D'Aniello finished with five saves in net for King's. Becca Sykes made one stop recording the shutout for LVC. Lebanon Valley held a 25-2 advantage in shots, while garnering four corner kicks to King's three corner attempts.
King's will return to the field Sunday when they welcome Freedom Conference foe Delaware Valley College for a match scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium. The match will also mark the Lady Monarchs homecoming festivities.
