WILKES-BARRE – The King's College women's soccer team returns to the field Tuesday night when the Lady Monarchs welcome Commonwealth Conference foe Alvernia University to McCarthy Stadium at 7:00 p.m.

King's comes into the contest with a 1-4 overall record following a 2-1 loss against D'Youville College on Sunday. Junior forward Becky Chateauneuf tops the squad with nine points on three goals and three assists. Fellow junior forward Jade Zuniga follows with eight points on three goals and two helpers. Freshman forward Holly Spikol adds four points on two goals. Junior goalie Danielle Johnson has been steady in net for the Lady Monarchs posting a 3.07 goals against average with 43 saves in five matches played.
Alvernia stands at 3-2 overall on the year following a scoreless two overtime tie at Stockton College on Sunday. Amy Mesce and Colleen Klusewitz lead the Crusader attack with two goals each. Laura Mauroschadt and Katelyn Gill have notched one goal apiece. Goalkeeper Kirsten Kelley has a 0.54 goals against average with 12 saves and two shutouts in four matches played.
Following the match, King's will travel to Reading, Pa. Thursday for a non-conference matchup at Penn State Berks. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
