KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER SUFFERS 5-0 SETBACK AT SCRANTON

SCRANTON -- Chelsea Paskman scored two goals to lead the University of Scranton women's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over visiting King's College in a non-conference women's soccer matchup at Fitzpatrick Field.

With the win, Scranton improved to 5-3 on the season while King's slipped to 1-8.

After a near one-hour delay due to heavy rains and lightening in Northeastern PA, Scranton came out of the gates quickly as Paskman scored less than seven minutes into the match to give the Lady Royals a 1-0 lead.  Her second goal came in the 21st minute for a 2-0 Lady Royals' advantage. Caloline Corasanti, Samantha Russo, and Kate Hennigan added one goal each for Scranton.

The Royals held a 19-2 advantage in shots and enjoyed a 7-0 margin in corner kicks.

Junior goalie Melissa D'Aniello came on in relief of starter Danielle Johnson and made five saves while allowing just two goals in over 76 minutes of action for King's.

The Lady Monarchs will be off until Wednesday when King's hosts Lycoming at 7:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
