KING'S SWIMMING TEAMS FALL AT ELIZABETHTOWN IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA -- The King's College men's and women's swim teams concluded regular season action at Elizabethtown College Saturday afternoon. The men's squad fell 94-59, while the women dropped a 125-61 decision to the host Blue Jays.
The Monarchs drop to 2-9 overall and finish conference competition at 1-6. The women conclude their regular season campaign at 6-7 and 2-5 in league meets.
For the men, Jack Harrington (left) enjoyed a fine day in the water taking first place in both the 200 freestyle (1:58.45) and 500 freestyle (5:30.47). Eric Stencovage posted a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.87) and a second place spot in the 50 freestyle (23.89). Joshua DeBellas came in second in both the 500 freestyle (5:30.64) and the 1000 freestyle (11:27.27). Justin Weilert finished second in the 200 IM (2:17.64) for the Monarchs.
On the women's side, Patricia Manning continued her fine performances with a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.91) and second place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:05.75). Maggie Nealer took second in the 200 IM (2:30.35), while Rebecca Smith captured second in the 100 freestyle (59.63) and third in the 1000 freestyle (11:31.79). Krystna Homanko posted a third place finish in the 200 freestyle (2:12.51), and Caitlin Casey took third in the 50 freestyle (28.18) for the Lady Monarchs.
Both squads will return to the pool on February 11-13 to compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships held at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
