Wilkes-Barre, PA-- The King's College men's soccer team dropped a tough 8-2 decision to Eastern University in the Freedom Conference opener Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium.
The Monarchs allowed five first half goals including a pair to Brandon Riechart. The Eagles also got goals from Brandon Gross, Grant Supplee, and James Le.
King's answered out of the locker room when Max Allegro headed home his second of the season on an cornerkcik off the foot of Joey Bender to cut the lead to 5-1. Eastern answered with a goal from Gross at 49:05.
After Gross and Dan Sheilds extended the lead King's found the back of the net again on a shot from Kevin Buchanan at 75:53 assisted by Bender.
Reichart completed the hat-trick with his fourth of the year at 77:18 to set the final.
The Monarchs return to action Tuesday when they host Ursinus College at 7:00 pm at McCarthy Stadium.
