Wilkes-Barre, PA-- The King's College women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to Misericordia on a rain-soaked night at McCarthy Stadium.
Misericordia (7-3-2, 2-0-1 Freedom) jumped out early with a goal from Erin McGreal at 16:29 from Sam Helmstetter.
The Cougars would score three more times in the first half with a pair of goals form Laura Roney and one from Megan Lannigan.  Helmstetter picked up assists on both of the Roney goals.
King's (2-9, 0-3) best chance to score came in the second half at 54:18 on a shot by 
Jade Zuniga that drifted just wide of the left post.
The Lady Monarchs also got shots on net from 
Brianne Schmidt and Becky Chateaueuf but couldn't sneak one past Misericordia goalie Caitlin Sweeny.  
Lauren Duguid made three saves for King's in the loss.
Conference play continues for the Lady Monarchs on Saturday when they travel to FDU-Florham for a 2:30 pm matchup.
