King's Women's Soccer Downed 3-0 at Alvernia

KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO ALVERNIA, 3-0
READING -- The host Alvernia University women's soccer team built a 2-0 halftime lead and waked away with a 3-0 victory over visiting King's College in non-conference action Monday night in Reading.

With the win, Alvernia improved to 9-7-1 while King's slipped to 3-14.
Alvernia opened the scoring 7:17 into the game when Rachel Gimber scored on an unassisted goal. The Crusaders struck net again at 21:26 when Karlie Nestor scored on a crossing pass from Laura Mauroschadt to give Alvernia a 3-0 lead at the half.
The score remained the same until the 83:20 mark when Jackie Capuano scored unassisted.
Alvernia outshot King's 16-1 and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks

King's goalie Lauren Duguid made 10 saves on the night while Crusader keeper Jamie Dearie posted one stop.

King's will head back to Reading on Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs face Albright College at 7:00 p.m.
