KING'S CAGERS TRAVEL TO DESALES FOR FREEDOM CLASH, VIEW LIVESTATS, LIVE VIDEO
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College men's and women's basketball teams look to improve their playoff seeding when they travel to Center Valley, Pa. to face Freedom rival DeSales University Saturday afternoon. The women's game will tip at 1:00 p.m. with the men's to follow at 3:00 p.m.

The Lady Monarchs (14-8, 8-3 Freedom) are tied atop the Freedom Conference with Misericordia University after posting an 80-62 victory at Delaware Valley College on Wednesday. Sophomore guard Celia Rader tops the team averaging 13.8 points (9th in Freedom) and 3.1 rebounds, shooting a conference-best 39.6 percent (55-139) from behind the arc. Junior forward Paige Carlin (left) follows with 10.8 points and 4.8 rebounds. Sophomore guard Katlin Michaels adds 9.5 points and 5.0 rebounds, while sophomore guard Lindsay Atchison contributes 7.8 points and a team-high 6.4 rebounds. Junior point-guard Brittany Muscatell runs the offense averaging 7.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. King's averages 66.9 points per-game, while yielding 63.3 points each contest.
DeSales (14-8, 7-4 Freedom) enters the matchup tied for third place with Manhattanville College following a 71-54 loss at Misericordia on Wednesday. Senior guard Lori Lidlow paces the Bulldogs averaging 17.0 points (4th in Freedom) and 2.9 rebounds. Freshman guard Sondrine Glovas follows with 9.8 points and 4.5 rebounds, while sophomore center Colleen Gavin adds 8.9 points and 7.4 rebounds. DeSales averages 63.7 points per-game, while ranking second in the league in scoring defense allowing just 54.9 points each contest.
King's posted a 62-54 win over the Bulldogs in Wilkes-Barre on January 22nd in the teams' first meeting this season.
The Monarchs (14-8, 6-5 Freedom) moved into a three-way tie for third place with Misericordia and Delaware Valley after an important 77-70 victory at Del Val on Wednesday. King's now owns the head-to-head tie breaker with the Aggies incase the scenario would occur for a playoff spot. Senior forward Kevin Conroy averages 18.3 points (3rd in Freedom) and 5.7 rebounds to lead the Monarchs' balanced attack. Conroy poured in a game-high 25 points in the win at Del Val, moving to within five points of becoming the ninth all-time scorer in school history (1,350 points). Rookie guard Kyle Hammonds follows with 13.4 points and 5.0 rebounds, while sophomore guard Matt Fiorino (left) has been on a shooting tear lately averaging 11.0 points on 47.8 percent (55-115) shooting from long range. Junior point-guard Kyle Stackhouse provides a solid floor game averaging 8.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. King's, the top scoring offense in the conference, averages 75.5 points per-game, while yielding 68.6 points each tilt.
DeSales (17-5, 8-3 Freedom) sits in first place in the tightly contested Freedom standings following a 75-73 road win at Misericordia on Wednesday. Senior guard Brian Hunter, who recently hit the 1,000 point plateau for his career, leads the Bulldogs averaging 15.9 points and 4.5 rebounds. Sophomore forward Brett Moyer follows with 15.4 points and a team-high 7.6 rebounds, shooting 57.9 percent (124-214) from the floor. Junior forward Bob Zanneo adds 11.6 points and 4.0 rebounds, while sophomore guard Brian Kerwin rounds out the double figure scorers with 10.0 points and 42 three-pointers. DeSales averages 74.6 points per-game, while allowing 67.0 points each contest.
