KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO WASHINGTON COLLEGE
WILKES-BARRE – Visiting Washington College used goals by three different player to post a 3-0 victory over host King's College in non-conference women's soccer action Monday night at McCarthy Stadium.
With the loss, King's slipped to 1-4 while Washington improved to 1-4.
Katie Bradley broke open a scoreless game by converting a penalty kick with 21:00 left in the first half to give Washington a 1-0 advantage.
The Shorewomen built a 2-0 lead in the second half on a questionable goal when Gabby Antalffy took a shot from the right wing that bounced off the cross bar, then the left post before returning to the field of play. The sideline official, however, ruled the ball had crossed the goal and awarded Washington the score at the 52:56.
Mikey Fili then added an unassisted goal on a shot from 30 yards out at the 84:01 mark.
Washington outshot King's 19-1 and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. King's goalie
Lauren Duguid posted 10 saves while Shorewomen keeper Torri Ripple had one stop.
King's returns to action Saturday with a 12:00 noon matchup at Elmira College.
