KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER POSTS 4-0 WIN OVER OLD WESTBURY
 
WILKES-BARRE -- Samantha Beadle scored a pair of first-half goals to power the King's College women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over visiting SUNY Old Westbury Monday night at McCarthy Stadium in the Betzler Athletic Complex.

With the win, King's improved to 2-5 on the year while Old Westbury slipped to 2-4.
 
Beadle gave King's a 1-0 lead at 36:38 by placing a direct kick into the upper right corner of the net.

Just 3:38 later, Beadle made good on another direct kick, this time just inside the left post, giving King's a 2-0 lead with 34:00 left in the opening half..
 
The lead grew to 3-0 in the second half when Megan Inama struck net off a perfect lead pass from Holly Spikol with 35:35 remaining in the contest.

The Lady Monarchs built took a 4-0 lead when Inama took a shot off the right wing that hit the post and bounced off Old Westbury keeper Caitlin Thomas. The loose ball was then tapped into the net by King's Brianne Schmidt with 29:04 left in the contest.

King's held a 9-6 advantage in shots while both teams took four corner kicks. Lady Monarch goalie Lauren Duguid picked up her second shutout of the season, making two saves. Thomas had three stops for the Panthers.

King's will travel to Williamsport on Wednesday to face Lycoming College in a 4:00 p.m. contest.
