KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO LYCOMING, 2-1
WILLIAMSPORT — Jussae Hanford scored two goals to lift the host Lycoming College women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over visiting King's in a non-conference matchup Wednesday in Williamsport.
With the win, Lycoming improved to 2-7 while King's slipped to 2-6.
After a scoreless first half, which included a half-hour lightening delay, Lycoming took a 1-0 lead when Jussae Hanford scored off an assist from Briana Riddick just 3:00 into the second half.
Hanford made it a 2-0 game when she scored unassisted during a scramble in front of the King's net at the 63:3 mark.
King's cut the lead to 2-1 when
Jade Zuniga converted off a rebounded shot at 81:23. King's, however, was unable to tie the game as Lycoming held on for the victory.
The Lady Monarchs held a 10-7 advantage in shots while Lycoming led 3-2 in corner kicks.

King's returns to action Saturday when the Lady Monarchs host Eastern University the Freedom Conference season-opener Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium in the Betzler Athletic Complex.
