KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO LYCOMING, 2-1

WILLIAMSPORT — Jussae Hanford scored two goals to lift the host Lycoming College women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over visiting King's in a non-conference matchup Wednesday in Williamsport.

With the win, Lycoming improved to 2-7 while King's slipped to 2-6.

After a scoreless first half, which included a half-hour lightening delay, Lycoming took a 1-0 lead when Jussae Hanford scored off an assist from Briana Riddick just 3:00 into the second half.

Hanford made it a 2-0 game when she scored unassisted during a scramble in front of the King's net at the 63:3 mark.
King's cut the lead to 2-1 when Jade Zuniga converted off a rebounded shot at 81:23. King's, however, was unable to tie the game as Lycoming held on for the victory.

The Lady Monarchs held a 10-7 advantage in shots while Lycoming led 3-2 in corner kicks.

King's goalie Lauren Duguid made three saves while Warrior keeper Jen Basch posted six stops

King's returns to action Saturday when the Lady Monarchs host Eastern University the Freedom Conference season-opener Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium in the Betzler Athletic Complex.
