KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS 6-2 TO D'YOUVILLE

BUFFALO, NY -- Danielle Gehan scored three goals and added two assists to power the host D'Youville College women's soccer team to a 6-2 victory over the King's College women's soccer team in a non-conference matchup Saturday in Buffalo, NY.

With the loss, King's slipped to 0-2 while D'Youville stands at 1-1.
Gehen opened the scoring just 3:15 into the game. King's knotted the score at 1-1 when Brianne Schmidt struck nett at the 10:56 mark. D'Youville, however, took a 3-1 halftime lead on goals by Mallory Hojnacki and Steph Lozzi.

In the second half, Gehen scored her second goal of the game, but King's countered with an unassisted goal by Samantha Beadle to cut the lead to 4-2. D'Youville, would seal the game with the last two goals, including Gehen's third score at 78:18.

D'Youville outshot King's 19-9 and held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks. Lady Monarch goalie Lauren Duguid made seven saves in the contest.
King's will make its home debut Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. matchup with Penn State Berks at McCarthy Stadium.
