KING'S SWIMMERS SWEEP DREW IN 2013-14 HOME DEBUT

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's and men's swim teams made their 2013-14 home debut a successful one as both squads were victorious against visiting Drew University Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
 
With the wins, both King's teams improved to 1-1 on the year.
 
Brigid Wynn captured the 200-freestyle at 2:06.46, the 100-freestyle with a 58.52. Patricia Manning won the 200-individual medley with a 2:23.58, while Macawley Brown was victorious in the 100-butterfly at 1:03.37. Rachel Jonas touched first in the 100-breaststroke with a 1:15.34, while King's team of Wynn, Manning, Brown, and Erin McLin won the 200-freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.19.
 
Michael Sweeney was victorious in the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:53.51 and the 500-freestyle at 5:21.95. Justin Weilert captured the 1000-free with a time of 11:43.79. Joe Ciccarelli won the 50-freestyle at 24.10 and the 100-backstroke with a 1:00.82 while Josh Shomaker touched first in the 100-freestyle with a 54.61. Matt Dickson was a winner in the 100-breaststroke at 1:08.17. The Monarch team of Sweeney, Shoemaker, Ciccarelli, and Kyle Newton won the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:33.76
