KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER DOWNS PENN STATE BERKS, 1-0

WILKES-BARRE --Freshman Kylie Borick scored what proved to be the game winning goal early in the second half as the King's College women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Penn State Berks Wednesday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win, King's improved to 2-0 for the first time since the 1997 squad opened with a 5-0  mark. PSU-Berks fell to 1-1 with the loss.

Borick took a long through-ball from Raquel Molina on the right wing and drilled a shot into the upper left corner of the net at the 51:21 mark.  From there, King's goalie Jessica Natale was outstanding with 10 saves, including seven in the second stanza. Natale came up with her biggest save with 75:09 to play when the Lion's Lizzie Mummau worked her way free for a breakaway and Natale made a diving stop to keep the Lady Monarchs on top.


 The Lions held a 14-2 advantage in shots as well as a 4-2 lead in corner kicks. 

King's returns to the pitch Friday when the Lady Monarchs host Elmira College at 7:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
