KING'S MEN'S SOCCER DROPS 2-1 DECISION TO FIRST-PLACE EASTERNST. DAVID'S — Eric Giovagnoli scored two goals, including the game winner with 12:02 left in the contest as the host Eastern University men's soccer team maintained sole possession of first-place in the Freedom Conference with a 2-1 victory over visiting King's College Wednesday in St. Davids.
With the loss King's slipped to 11-5-1 overall and 3-2 in Freedom Conference play. Eastern, meanwhile, stands alone atop the league by improving to 12-2 and 5-0.
After a scoreless first half Eastern took a 1-0 lead when Giovagnoli knocked in a rebounded shot at the 53:20 mark. King's tied the score at 73:26 when
Billy Brown scored on a header following a crossing pass by
Brian Fenster.
But 4:32 later, the Eagles scored what proved to be the game-winner when Giovagnoli settled a pass from Josh Cirocco in front of two Monarch defenders and turned to his left and managed a shot that found the upper right corner of the net.
Eastern held a 25-6 advantage in shots but only eight were on goal. The Eagles also held a 13-4 lead in corner kicks. Monarchs keeper

King's returns to the pitch Saturday with a 3:00 p.m. home matchup against Delaware Valley College at McCarthy Stadium.
