King's Swim Teams Post Saturday Sweep of Drew University

KING'S SWIMMERS SWEEP DREW

MADISON, NJ -- The King's College women's and men's swim team both earned victories on Saturday with a sweep over host Drew University in Madison, N.J.

King's men won by a 108-83 count while the women were victorious by a score of 114-82.

For the King's men, James McLaughin won the 1000-freestyle with a 11:15.94 as well as the 100-backstroke at 1:00.23. Michael Sweeney touched first in the 200-freestyle at 1:58.86 along with the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:57.4.

Josh Shoemaker was first in the 50-freestyle with a 23.94 while Juwan Foster was second at 24.53. Shoemaker was also second in the 100-butterfly with a 1:00.37. Chris Lukashewski was a winner in the 100-freestyle at 51:48 and also finished second in the 200-freestyle with a 1:58.89. Matt Dickson was second in the 200-individual medley with a 2:24.18.

King's team of Shoemaker, Sweeney, Foster, and Lukashewski captured the 200-freestyle relay at 1:34.49.
 
For the women, Gabby Corpuz captured the 200-individual medley at 2:22.38 and the 100-backstroke with a 1:04.55. Katie Fitch won the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:53.82. Chrissy O'Loughlin was second in the race at 12:47.31.

Macawley Brown touched first in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:03.07 and was second in the 50-freestyle at 26.47. Caroline Fitch was second in the 200-freestyle at 2:10.31 and also touched second in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:52.14. Brigid Wynn was second in the 100-freestyle with a 58.92.  Rachel Jonas was second in the 100-breaststroke at 1:14.87.

King's women's 200-medley relay team of Corpuz, Brown, Rachel Jonas, and Wynn were winners with a time of 1:59.20. King's othe rentry of Katie Fitch, Shannon Johnaon. O'Loughlin, and Gabby Pelliciotti were second in the event with a 2:01.65.

King's team of Hann Oney, Caitlin Tracchio, Caroline Fitch, and Jonas won the 200-freestyle relay with a 1:52.09.

King's returns to the pool Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. matchup at Cabrini College.
