King's Men's Soccer Goes Overtime for 2-1 win over Penn College

KING'S DOWNS PENN COLLEGE 2-1 IN OVERTIME

WILLIAMSPORT -- Kevin Hopkins assisted on the game-tying goal with 7:32 remaining,  then scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the King's College men's soccer team posted a 2-1 victory over host Penn College Tuesday night in Williamsport.

With the win King's improved to 8-4-1 while Penn College fell to 5-7-1.

 
After a scoreless first half, Penn College pushed across the first goal of the game at the 56:59 mark when Tristan Smith scored on a penalty kick.
The Monarchs tied the game at the 82:22 mark when Raul Cruz scored off a pass from Hopkins.
 
The teams entered overtime where the Monarchs quickly went to work.  David Stroh sent a crossing pass from outside the box into Hopkins to cashed in with the winning score just 0:27 into the first extra session.

King's outshot the Wildcats 24-12 and held a 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Tyler Wilson posted five saves while Wildcat keeper Hector Guerrero stop six shots.

The Monarchs will travel to DeSales Saturday for a 12:00 noon kickoff in Center Valley.
