KING'S SWIM TEAMS SWEEP CABRINI, CEDAR CREST

RADNOR, PA --- The King's College swim teams posted respective victories Saturday at the Dixon Center Pool on the campus of Cabrini College. The Lady Monarchs posted a 108-69 over Cabrini College while adding a 118-48 triumph over Cedar Crest College. The King's men tallied a 118-78 victory over Cabrini. Cedar Crest does not field a men's team.

With the two victories the King's women improves their record to 4-0 on the year while the King's men improve to 2-1 this season.

For the women, Katie Fitch and Caroline Fitch were co-winner in the 1000 yard freestyle with identical times of 12:00.69. Brigid Wynn touched first in two events, first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:26.25 and then in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:46.17. Macawley Brown won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:28.19 while Gabby Corpuz won the 200 yard backstroke in a time of 2:21.55. The team of Corpuz, Rachel Jonas, Brown, and Wynn were victorious in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:21.45.

For the men, James McLaughlin won the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:08.60. Michael Sweeney was a winner in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.69 and the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:23.47. Chris Lukashewski was also a multiple event winner touching first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.92 and the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.53. Josh Shoemaker was first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:16.31 and Matthew Dickson was first in the 200 yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:26.67. The team of McLaughlin, Dickson, Sean McQueen, and Galvin Gagliardi was first in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:12.09 while the team of Shoemaker, Sweeney, McQueen, and Lukashewski was first in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:33.00.

King's swimmers return to action on Wednesday when they host local rival Misericordia University at 6:00 p.m. in the Scandlon Pool.
