KING'S DESIR ELIMINATED AFTER TWO MATCHES AT NCAA D-III NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

In his opening match, Desir fell behind 5-0 midway through the first period to Collin Crowell (30-4) of Roger Williams University who took Desir down to his back for a five-point play. Crowell would later turn Desir to his back to add another three nearfall points to build a 8-0 lead entering the second period.

In the second period Desir chose the neutral position and posted three takedowns to cut the score to 11-6 entering the final period. But Crowell added two third period takedowns and a riding time  point to set the final score at 16-7.

In his first consolation match, Desir was taken down and pinned in 1:53 of the first period by Farai Sewera (30-8) of Coe College.

For Desir, his season ended in disappointing fashion as the Monarch senior has battled a shoulder injury the second semester, forcing him to miss eight matches since January 11 while affecting his normal practice routine. He reinjured the shoulder in the semi-finals of the NCAA East Regionals two weeks ago.

With the two losses Friday, Desir wrapped up his senior year with a 26-3 record and finishes his career with a 71-23 mark. He missed the majority of the 2011-12 season and did not compete in the post-season for personal reasons.
