KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER DOWNS LYCOMING, 2-0
 
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's soccer team score both goals in the first half as the Lady Monarchs posted a 2-0 win over visiting Lycomong College Wednesday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win King's improved to 3-1 2 while Lycoming slipped to 2-7.
 
King's scored first when Christina Nassaney scored off a corner kick delivery from Amy Barge at the 16:18 mark of the first half. The Lady Monarchs struck again with 7:32 left in the opening stanza when Ivy Nulton struck net following a pass from Gabrielle Murphy.
King's held a 10-6 advantage in shots and a 3-0  edge in corner kicks. Lady Monarch goalie Jessica Natale made five saves compared to three for Lycoming keeper Joelle Winey, who ws named the Commonwealth Conference "Goalie of the Week".

The King's defense also did an outstanding job on Jordan Lazarich, limiting the reigning Commonwealth Conference "Offensive Player of the Week" without a shot.

King's will next travel to Annville on Saturday to face Lebanon Valley College in a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
