KING'S WOMEN'S SWIIMING SPLIT TRI-MEET WITH ARCADIA AND MESSIAH; MEN'S TEAM SWEPTWILKES-BARRE, PA --- The King's College Women's swimming team defeated Arcadia University 111-89 and fell to Messiah College 150-53 in a tri-meet in the Scandlon Gymnasium Pool on Saturday afternoon. The Men's team was defeated by Arcadia 143-53 and Messiah 154-40.
The Lady Monarchs are now 7-2 on the year while the men fall to 3-5.
Macawley Brown was lone event winner for the Monarchs finishing first in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:15.37. Brown also finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.61.
Katie Fitch was second in the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:51.48 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:50.07.
Brigid Wynn finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.34.
Hannah Oney finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:44.89. The team of
Gabrielle Corpuz,
Marybeth Rudy, Brown, and Wynn finished second in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:20.94.
For the King's men,
Chris Lukashewski finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.91.
James McLaughlin was third in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:29.72 and
Michael Sweeney was third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.41.
Kyle Newton finished third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:14.79.
The swim teams will next be in action next Saturday when they travel to Reading, PA to face Albright College at 1:00 p.m.
