King's Swimmers Fall to MAC Power Albright

KING'S SWIMMERS FALL TO MAC POWER ALBRIGHT

READING -- The King's College women's and men's swim teams both fell at the hands of traditional Middle Atlantic Conference power Albright College Saturday in Reading.

The Albright women by a score of 120-79 to improve to 8-2 and 8-1 in the MAC while King's slipped to  7-4 and 2-4.
The Lion men were winners by a 127-57 count to up their marks to 7-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the MAC while the Monarchs fell to 3-7 and 0-6.

For the women, Macawley Brown won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:20.76  and the 100-backstroke at 1:05.05. Hanney Oney won a close verdict in the 100-breaststroke with a 1:16.49 while teammate Marybeth Rudy was second at 1:16.50.

Caroline Fitch was third in the 1650-freestyle with a 19:34 while Katie Fitch was fourth at 20:01.59 Caroline was also third in the 100-freestyle with a 1:00.57 while Katie Fitch was fourth at 1:02.75. Brigid Wynn was third in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:48.57.

Gabby Corpuz was third in the 100-butterfly at 1:06.80 and was also fourth in the 200-freestyle with a 2:09.67. Rudy was fourth in the 50-freestyle at 28.34 while Caitlin Tracchio was fourth in the 100-backstroke. King's 200-freestyle relay team of Wynn, Brown, Corpuz, and Caroline Fitch were first with a time of 1:49.20. 

For the men, Kyle Newton touched first in the 100-backstroke with a 1:06.14 and was second in the 200-individual medley at 2:11.83.  Chris Lukashewski was third in the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:48.68 and and was also third in the 100-backstroke at 1:01.81.

James McLaughlin was second in the 500-freestyle at 5:19.91 and fourth in the 50-freestyle with a 24.31. Josh Shoemaker was third in the 100-butterfly with a time of 58.84. David Bors was fourth in the 100-freestyle with a 57.16. King's 200-relay team of James Lyncj, Matt Dickson, Lucas Crock, and Bors were first with a 1:43.97.

King's returns to the pool Saturday at 2:00 p.m. when the Monarchs host Lycoming and FDU-Florham in the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
