KING'S FIELD HOCKEY DROPS MAC FREEDOM GAME TO MISERICORDIA, 3-1

DALLAS, PA --- The King's College field hockey team fell to host Misericordia University 3-1 in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom game on Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field in Dallas.

The Cougars improve to 6-9 overall and 3-2 in MAC Freedom play with the win while the Monarchs fall to 11-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference.

The Cougars struck first in the 14th minute when Colby Eldridge scored on a penalty stroke. Ten minutes later Misericordia made it 2-0 when Kailey Vogl scored off an assist from Suzhaunna Lerch. The Cougars were able to take a 3-0 halftime lead after Lindsay Hischak scored off an assist from Vogl.

The Monarchs came out strong in the second half and Madysen Jones scored her team-leading 13th goal of the year just 24 seconds into the half. King's had a few good opportunities to score in the second half but were not able to get the ball past Angela Pasquuini in goal for the Cougars.

King's outshot Misericordia 19-15 in the game including 9-6 in the second half while both teams each had 12 penalty corners. Pasquini made nine saves in goal for the Cougars to record the win. Paige Tedik made seven saves in goal for the Monarchs.

Heading into the final two conference games of the season King's finds themselves in a three-team tie for third in the MAC Freedom standings. FDU-Florham and Eastern are tied atop the conference with 4-1 records after the Devils beat the Eagles tonight 3-1. King's, Misericordia, and Wilkes all have 3-2 records while Delaware Valley is in sixth just one game behind at 2-3.

King's will return to field on Saturday when they host Wilkes University in an important MAC Freedom game at 12:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium. The Monarchs will also be holding their Play Pink for Breast Cancer Day in their final regular season home game of the year.
