KING'S SWIMMERS SWEEP DREW IN HOME DEBUT

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College swim teams made its 2015-16 home debut a successful one as the Monarchs posted a sweep of visiting Drew University Saturday in Scandlon Gym.
King's women won by a score of 120-74 while the men were victorious by a 123-56 count.
For the women, Katie Fitch won the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:42.27 and the 500-freestyle at 5:44.65. Brigid Wynn captured the 200-individual medley at 2:27.12. Lauren Pham won the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:06.68. Rachel Jonas was a victor in the 100-breaststroke at 1:13.87.
King's team of Tia Brown, Nicole Mealey, Melina Good, and Fitch won the 200-freestyle relay at 1:51.62. The Lady Monarch team of Wynn, Pham, Jonas, and Mikayla Miller captured the 200-medley relay with a 2:00.06.
On the men's side, Nate Dubbs won the 1000-freestyle with a 11:11.84 and the 100-butterfly at 59.34. Bryce Groshardt captured the 200-freestyle at 1:53.58 and the 100-backstroke with a 57.31
Josh Shoemaker won the 50-freestyle with a 23.62 and the 100-freestyle at 52.11. Aaron Griffith touched first in the 200-individual medley at 2:12.40. Randill DeAsis won the 100-backstroke with a 1:07.42
The team of Dubbs, Victor Arnold, John Kwasizur, and Aaron Griffith captured the 200-freestyle at 1:44.26. King's squad of Groshardt, Shoemaker, DeAsis, and Chris Soutter won the 200-medley relay with a 1:46.68.
King's returns to action Saturday with a tri-meet against Cabrini and Cedar Crest at 1:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.
