KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER USES 2ND HALF GOAL TO POST 1-0 ROAD WIN OVER ALFRED

ALFRED, NY -- Senior Ivy Nulton scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 30:45 left in the contest as the King's College women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over host Alfred University Wednesday night in Alfred, NY.

With the win King's improved to 7-6-2 on the year while Alfred slipped to 1-14-2.

After a scoreless first half King's would push across the lone goal of the game when Christina Nassaney found Nulton on a corner kick from the right side who buried the ball inside the right post post at the 59:15 mark.  The King's defense did the job the rest of the way, holding Alfred without a shot for the remainder of the match.

King's held a 13-3 advantage in shots while also leading 4-3 in corner kicks.  Lady Monarch goalie Jessica Kuhn made one save to record the shutout in her first collegiate start.

King's returns to the pitch Saturday as the Lady Monarchs look to clinch a playoff berth with an important 5:00 p.m. Freedom Conference matchup at Delaware Valley University. King's controls their own destiny heading into the game needing a win or tie to clinch a spot in the MAC Freedom Tournament. However, the Monarchs could also clinch a berth before even playing on Saturday if Manhattanville beats Wilkes or FDU-Florham and Eastern play to a draw earlier in the day.
