King's Swimmers Split with Cabrini, Cedar Crest

KING'S SWIMMERS SPLIT WITH CABRINI, CEDAR CREST

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College swim teams split with their competition Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium

The King's women won both ends of a tri-meet, downing Cabrini 123-76 while besting Cedar Crest 135-48.  The Monarch men were edged in a dual-meet by Cabrini 104-92.

Katie Fitch won the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:47.79 as well as the 500-freestyle at 5:47.37. Brigid Wynn was a winner in the 200-individual medley at 2:24.99 and in the 200-backstroke with a 2:21.79.

Lauren Pham captured the 200-butterfly with a 2:28.53 while Hannah Oney won the 200-breaststroke by touching at 2:40.83. Amanda Schwardtman was second in the 200-freestyle with a 2:14.22.


Mikayla Miller placed second in the 50-freestyle at 27.30 and in the 100-freestyle with a 59.99.  Rachel Jonas was second in the 200-breaststroke at 2:42.64.

King's team of Wynn Pham, Oney, and Melina Good finished first in the 200-medley relay with a 2:02.17.  The Lady Monarch squad of Good, Mikayla Miller, Nicole Mealey, and Rachel Jonas won the 200-freestyle relay at 1:50.31.

For the men, Nate Dubbs captured the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:02.51 and the 500-freestyle at 5:22.60. Bryce Groshardt won the 50-freestyle at 22.87 and was second in the 200-backstroke with a 2:04.24.

Randill DeAsis was a winner in the 100-freestyle with a 52.54 and finished second inn the 200-yard freestyle at 1:55.63.  Josh Shoemaker touched first in the 200-breaststroke at 2:24.67 and was second in the 200-individual medley with a 2:10.15. Chris Soutter finished second in the 200-butterfly at 2:22.64.

King's team of DeAsis, Dubbs, Groshardt, and Shoemaker won the 200-freestyle relay with a 1:35.02.

King's returns to the pool Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. match at Mt. St. Mary's (NY) College.
