KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO LYCOMING, 2-1WILLIAMSPORT — The host Lycoming College women's soccer team built a 2-0 lead and held off a rally by King's College to post a 2-1 victory Tuesday afternoon in Williamsport.
With the win Lycoming improved to 6-2 while King's slipped to 3-2.
The Warriors opened the scoring 11:49 into the game when Jordan Lazarich scored off an assist from Hannah Rinaldo. Lycoming extended th lead in the second half when Meghenn Jackson masse good on a penalty kick at the 62:06 mark.
King's trimmed the lead to 2-1 when
Mallory Fox converted a pass by
Alexandra Garrett at 77:27, but the Warriors to fend off the King's offensive the rest of the way to hold on to the victory.
King's outshot Lycoming 17-11 while the Warriors owned a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks. King's goalie
Jessica Natale made three saves in net while Lycoming keeper Helen Ross had eight stops.
King's returns to the pitch Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. home contest against Lebanon Valley College
