King's Swimmers Split with Lycoming, FDU-Florham

KING'S SWIMMERS SPLIT WITH LYCOMING, FDU


FULL RESULTS

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College swim teams split a tri-meet Wednesday night with Lycoming College and FDU-Florham in an event that was originally scheduled for Saturday but moved forward due to the weekend weather threat.

King's women defeated FDU 164-66 but fell to Lycoming 144.50-111.50. The Monarchs men downed FDU 119-94 while King's fell to Lycoming 176-79.


In the women's 1,000-freestyle, Katie Fitch was the winner with a time of 11:43.92, and also placed second in the 500-freestyle at 5:49.27. Brigid Wynn was a winner in the 200-freestyle at 2:08.15 and was second in the 200-backstroke with a 2:25.72 as well as the 200 individual medley at 2:27.52.

Rachel Jonas captured the 100-breaststroke with a 1:12.87 and was second in the 100-freestyle at 59.35 while Hannah Oney was victorious in the 200-breaststroke with a 2:41.18. Lauren Pham was second in the 200-butterfly, posting a 2:32.57, and also finished second in the 100-butterfly at 1:07.56. In the 50-freestyle Melanie Good finished second with a 27.30.

In the women's 200-medley relay, King's team of Hannah Oney, Lauren Pham, Rachel Jonas, and Mikayla Miller were second with a time of 2:03.52. King's team of Jonas, Wynn, Melina Good, and Miller won the women's 200-freestyle relay with a 1:48.28.

In the men's 1,000-freestyle, King's Nate Dubbs was victorious with a time of 10:50.68 and also placed third in the 100-butterfly at 59.53. Josh Shoemaker touched second in the 100-breaststroke at 1:06.32 and was third in the 100-freestyle with a 51.58 as well as in the 200-individual medley at 2:09.71.

Bryce Groshardt won the 500-freestyle at 5:03.81 and was was second in the 100-backstroke with a 56.79. Chris Soutter finished second in the 200-butterfly at 2:22.54. Aaron Griffith was second in the 200-freestyle at 1:57.35 and touched third in the 200-breaststroke with a 2:28.44. Randill DeAsis placed third in the 50-freestyle with a 24.49 while John Kwasizur was third in the 200-backstroke at 2:22.79.
