KING'S SWIMMERS PREP FOR MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH SWEEP OF CROSS-TOWN RIVAL WILKES FULL BOX SCOREWILKES-BARRE -- The King's College swimming teams prepped for the upcoming Middle Atlantic Conference Championships by wining the battle for local bragging rights as the Monarchs earned a sweep in the final dual meet of the regular-season over cross-town rival Wilkes University Saturday at the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center.
King's women won by a 99-91 margin while the Monarch men posted a 128-47 triumph. The victory enabled the Monarchs to finish the dual meet season with a 7-5 mark while the Monarchs men ended at 4-7.
King's
Amanda Schwerdtman captured the 1000-freestyle with a 12:00.87 and was second in the 500-freestyle at 5:51.12.
Katie Fitch won the 500-freestyle at 5:42.33 and was second in the 200-freestyle with a 2:10.19.
Hannah Oney captured the 100-backstroke with 1:15.36 while
Lauren Pham won the 100-butterfly at 1:05.14.
Rachel Jonas was second in the 50-freestyle at 27.11 and in the 100-freestyle with a 59.43 while
Brigid Wynn was second in the 200 individual medley with a 2:25.02 and in the 100-backstroke at 1:08.03.
Danielle Thomas was second in the 100-butterfly at 1:08.95

Melina Good won the 400-medley relay with a time of 4:22.33
Randill DeAsis won the 50-freestyle at 24.09 as well as the 100-freestyle with a 51.73, while also placing second in the 100-backstroke at 1:08.49.
Bryce Groshardt was a winner in the 200-freestyle with a 2:03.31 as well as the 500-freestyle at 5:06.12.
Josh Shoemaker was victorious in the 100-butterfly with a 58.07 and in the 100-breaststroke at 1:06.27.
Nate Dubbs was victorious in the 200-individual medley at 2:13.18, winning by over 10-seconds.
King's
Aaron Griffith captured the 100-freestyle with a 10:58.04 and was second in the 100-freestyle at 53.12.
John Kwasizur touched first in the 100-backstroke with a 1:05.44.
Chris Soutter was second in the 100-butterfly at 59.77 and in the 500-freestyle with a 5:38.99
King's men's team of

Josh Shoemaker won the 400-medley relay with a 3:59.62. The Monarch entry of Griffith, Dubbs, Andy Heilman, and Groshardt were winners in the 200-freestyle relay at 1:35.89.
King's swimmers will next compete in the MAC Championships February 11-14 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York.
