KING'S MEN'S SOCCER DROP CONFERENCE OPENER TO MISERICORDIA, 1-0
DALLAS, PA -- Matt Norcini scored the lone goal of the game to give the Misericordia men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over King's College in the conference opener for both teams on Saturday night at Mangelsdorf Field in Dallas.
The Cougars improve to 6-3-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference while the Monarchs fall to 5-5 overall with a 0-1 mark in conference play.
The game went back and forth in the first half with both teams controlling possession at alternating times. Neither team, however, was able to figure out the other's defense to be able to score the first goal of the game as they went into they went into the halftime break still scoreless.
The Cougars came out of the halftime break strong and were able to break through in the 53
rd minute with a goal. Norcini was able to knock a cross from the right goal line into the net for the game-winning goal. The Monarchs came close to tying the game up with just under two minutes left but
Chris Galeano's shot went just wide of the right post.

Ryan Romeo led the Monarchs with two shots each.
Owen Geedey made three save in net while facing 17 shots.
Misericordia held a 17-9 shot advantage and 14-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The Monarchs will return to the pitch on Wednesday when they travel to Hackettstown, N.J. to take on Centenary College at 4:00 p.m.
