KING'S MEN'S SOCCER FALLS AT MANHATTANVILLE, 3-2

PURCHASE, NY -- Omar Parra scored twice, including the game-winning goal with 2:04 remaining as the host Manhattanville College men's soccer team posted a 3-2 victory Saturday in Purchase, NY.

With the win Manhattanville improved to 9-6 overall and 2-2 in MAC Freedom Conference play while the Monarchs slipped to 7-7 and 2-2.

After a scoreless first half, Robin Schaufele scored the first goal of the game for Manhattanville at the 61:40 mark.  King's then tied the game just 3:02 later when Philip Kistner scored off an assist from Brian Fenster to knot the score at 1-1.

The Monarchs then forged ahead 2-1 when Fabio Massa scored on a header off a double-assist by Zach Wolcott and Chris Galeano at the 69:37 mark.

But the Valiants countered when Parra scored his first goal 10 minutes later on a header to tie the game at 2-2.

The winning goal would come when Parra took a lead loft pass from midfield and lifted a shot over the head of charging Monarch goalie Owen Geedey for the deciding score.

King's owned a 10-9 lead in shots as well a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.  Geedey finished the game with three saves.

The Monarchs return to action Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. home matchup against Delaware Valley University.
