King's Men's Soccer Clinches 3rd Seed in Freedom Tourney with 4-0 Win Over FDU

KING'S MEN'S SOCCER CLINCHES THIRD SEED IN FREEDOM PLAYOFFS 

WILKES-BARRE -- Keegan Fees scored twice and added an assist as the King's College men's soccer team clinched a MAC Freedom Conference Tournament berth with a 4-0 victory over visiting FDU-Florham Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win, King's ended the regular-season at 9-8-1 overall and 4-3 in Freedom Conference play. The Monarchs secured the third seed for next week's league tournament.

King's opened the scoring just 1:18 into the match when Aidan DeCamillo scored off an assist from  Brian Fenster.

The Monarchs took a 2-0 lead at the half when Philip Kistner took a feed from Keegan Fees in the box and score on a spectacular bicycle kick with a shot just inside the post.

The score grew to 3-0 with 9:29 to play when Fees struck net off a short cross from Zach Wolcott. The Monarchs added the final goal when Brian Fenster delivered a back heel cross in the box to to Fees who netted his second goal of the day.

King's outshot FDU 12-9 and owned a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Owen Geedey made three saves.

If King's wins the Monarchs will travel to Eastern University on Tuesday to face third-seeded Eastern University (13-3-1/5-2 league) in the Freedom Conference semi-finals. King's lost at Eastern 1-0 on October 22 in the regular-season meeting between the teams.
