KING'S SWIMMERS SWEEPÂ LEBANON VALLEY

ANNVILLE -- The King's College men's and women's swim teams both picked up victories Friday night with a sweep of host Lebanon Valley College in a Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet in Annville.
With the wins the King's women improved to 3-2 while the men upped their mark to 3-1. It was the first time King's men defeated Lebanon Valley since Matt Easterday took over as head coach in 2009-10.
In the 800-meter freestyle, King's Amanda Schwerdtman was a winner at a time of 10:37.9. In the 100-meter butterfly, Lauren Pham won with a 1:14.61 while Schwerdtman was second at 1:16.76. In the 200-meter freestyle, Brigid Wynn touched first with a 2:23.25 while Katie Fitch was second at 2:25.47. Fitch was a winner in the 400-freestyle with a 5:02.90 while Mikayla Miller was second at 5:13.24.
Melina Good was victorious in the 50-meter freestyle at 29.90 and also touched first in the 100-freestyle with a 1:05.77. Hannah Oney won the 200-individual medley at 2:48.51 while Megan Whitt was second at 2:51.04. Whitt also won the 100-meter backstroke with a 1:15.43. In the 200-meter medley relay, King's team of Whitt, Pham, Oney, and Miller were winners with a time of 2:17.06.
In the men's 200-meter freestyle, Josh Shoemaker was the winner with a 2:08.89 while Chris Soutter was second at 2:12.26. In the 50-meter freestyle, Bryce Groshardt was victorious with a 23.06 while Chris Dionne was second at 25.90. Groshardt also captured the 400-freestyle with a 4:22.70. Dan Weekes was the victor in the 100-meter freestyle with a 1:01.36 while Dionne was second at 1:02.27.
Rhyce Hammaker captured the 100-breaststroke with a 1:11.25 while Randill DeAsis was second at 1:14.79. Hammaker was also second in the 800-freestyle with a time of 9:59.31.Â
Griffith was second in the 200-individual medley at 2:27.89 while Josh Shoemaker was second in the 100-meter butterfly at 2:27.89. Â King's team of Griffith, Shoemaker, Weekes and DeAsis won the 200-meter freestyle relay with a 1:44.19. In the 200-medley relay, King's entry of Groshardt, Dionne, Hammaker, and Weekes won with a time of 1:53.82. King's returns home Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. matchup against Stevenson University.
