KING'S MEN'S SOCCER POSTS DOUBLE-OT WIN OVER URSINUS ON RAAB HEADER

WILKES-BARRE -- Brendan Raab scored the game-winning goal 0:53 into the second overtime period as the King's College men's soccer team posted a 2-1 victory over visiting Ursinus College Wednesday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win King's improved to 2-3 while Ursinus slipped to 2-2.

With the game deadlocked heading into the second extra session, King's put the game away when Ryan Romeo unleashed a long sideline throw into the box that Raab leaped for and headed into the upper middle portion of the net for his first goal of the season.

King's took a 1-0 lead at  29:12 of the first half when Brian Fenster scored off an assist from Keegan Fees.  Ursinus tied the game with 30:42 remaining in regulation when Derek Rudy scored off header following a feed by Kyle Woulfe, setting up Raab's overtime heroics,

King's held a 12-9 advantage in shots  while the Bears led 4-1 in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Owen Geedey made three saves in net.

The Monarchs return home Saturday with a 5:00 p.m. matchup with Juniata College.
