KING'S BASKETBALL TEAMS HOSTING MISERICORDIA IN FREEDOM CONFERENCE DOUBLEHEADER
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's and men's basketball teams will return to Freedom Conference play Wednesday night when they host Misericordia University in a Freedom Conference doubleheader. The women's game will tip off at 6:00 PM while the men's contest follows at 8:00 PM. Fans unable to attend can follow the game online at the links below:

The King's women stand at 2-12 overall and 0-4 in the league after a 57-56 loss at Manhattanville on Saturday. Misericordia is is 9-6 and 3-1 in the conference following a 59-48 home victory over Delaware Valley on Saturday. Last season the teams played a pair of thrillers that came down to the last shot of the game with each contest won by Misericordia. The Cougars won the first game 62-61 on a last second basket, then rallied from a 16-point half-time deficit to win 65-62 in Dallas. King's had won the previous six match ups before least season.
King's has been led thus far by freshman power-forward
Rebecca Prociak who averages 12.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per-game. Senior small forward
Kayla Feairheller follows with 9.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and team highs of 34 assists and 16 three-pointers. Sophomore forward
Alexis Steeber has tallied with 9.1 points and 5.1 rebounds while junior center
Olivia Hoffman also adds 9.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 59 blocked shots. Senior guard
Shae Grim chips in with 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds. The Lady Monarchs average 53.5 points per-game while allowing 63.3 each contest.
Misericordia is paced by senior center Justine Seeley with 15.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 36 blocked shots. Sophomore forward Rachel Carmody follows with 9.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 11 three-pointers. Sophomore guard Japriya Carroll adds 8.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 18 three-pointers while senior guard Shannon Croasdale posts 7.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 17 treys. Jaclyn Hajec chips in with 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds with 14 three-pointers. Misericordia has made 82 three-pointers compared to 49 for King's. The Cougars average 64.1 points while allowing 59.7.
King's men will look to snap a eight-game losing streak as the Monarchs enter the matchup with a 4-10 record and are 0-4 in Freedom play after a 65-61 road loss to Manhattanville on Saturday. Misericordia is 10-5 overall and 1-2 in league games after a 83-70 home loss to Delaware Valley on Saturday. Misericordia won both games last season, including a 91-88 overtime thriller in Scandlon Gym in the first game before posting a 80-70 win in Dallas in the second matchup. The Cougars has won 10 of the last 12 meetings with King's dating back to the 2010-11 season.
King's has been paced by senior power forward
Dan Rutecki who leads the team with 15.3 points and 7.7 rebounds while standing second on the team with 28 assists. Junior guard
Connor Callejas follows with 13.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 29 assists, and a team-high 32 three-pointers. Sophomore guard
Jake Barber has tallied 6.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 14 three pointers while senior guard
John Fazzini adds 6.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 28 assists, and 17 three-pointers. Junior forward
Chris Fazzini contributes 6.2 points and 3.0 rebounds while freshman center
Andrew Hudak chips in with 5.2 points and 4.1 boards. The Monarchs average 70.2 points while yielding 73.3 each game.
Misericordia is led by sophomore guard Jason Kenny with 22.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per-game while connecting on 34 three-pointers. Freshman guard Tony Harding follows with 14.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 25 three-pointers while junior guard Tre Field adds 14.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 27 three-pointers. Senior guard Griffin Sponaugle posts 11.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 32 three-pointers while 6-foot-10 senior center James Hawk chips in with 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds. The Cougars have made 153 three-pointers this season, compared to 91 for the Monarchs. Misericordia averages 88.1 points while allowing 77.3 each contest
After concluding their games with Misericordia both King's teams with turn to their other local conference rival when Wilkes University ventures into Scandlon Gymnasium for a Freedom doubleheader. The women's game tips off at 1:00 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 3:00 p.m.
