WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 14, 2026) -- Following a strong week of competition, King's College Athletics has named first-year outside hitter Weronika Malinowski of women's volleyball and first-year forward Joaquin Cedillo of men's soccer as the Monarchs of the Week.

Malinowski, a first-year outside hitter from Matawan, NJ, helped the Monarchs to a pair of victories last week, totaling 16 kills, 29 digs and four service aces across wins over Penn College and Purchase.

Malinowski opened the week with 11 kills, 19 digs and three aces in King's victory over Penn College before adding five kills, 10 digs and an ace in the Monarchs' win over Purchase. Through the first portion of the season, Malinowski leads King's with 45 kills and ranks second on the team with 63 digs.

Cedillo, a first-year forward from Fort Worth, TX, delivered a game-winning performance in King's 1-0 victory over Wilkes last Wednesday at McCarthy Stadium. Cedillo registered eight shots and scored the lone goal of the match, finding the back of the net in the 70th minute to give the Monarchs the rivalry victory.

Through King's first five matches of the season, Cedillo leads the Monarchs with two goals, 14 shots and six shots on goal.

The Monarchs return to action Tuesday, as women's volleyball travels to FDU-Florham for a 7:00 p.m. matchup. Men's soccer returns home Wednesday, hosting Union College at McCarthy Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
