King's Women's Soccer Falls to Eastern

KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO EASTERN

WILKES-BARRE -- The visiting Eastern University women's soccer team scored one goal in each half to walk away with a 2-0 victory over host King's College Wednesday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win Eastern improved 7-5-3 overall and 4-1 in MAC Freedom Conference play. King's slipped to 6-5-2 and 2-3 in league games.

Eastern took a 1-0 lead with 8:02 left in the first half when Alonda Cervantes headed in a corner kick by Courtney Davis to give the Eagles the halftime lead.  

The lead grew to 2-0 when Caroline Lozzi scored off a pass from Amy Radcliffe 6:16 into the second half.

Eastern outshot King's 9-4 and held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks. Lady Monarch goal Jess Schenfeld made four saves in net.

King's returns to action Saturday with a 1:00 PM home matchup against DeSales University.
