KING'S SWIMMERS SPLIT WITH DREW

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's and men's swim teams made their home debut Saturday with a split against Drew University in Scandlon Gymnasium.
The King's men defeated Drew 106-96 while the King's women fell to Drew by the identical score of 106-96.
For the women Kirsten Siwy captured the 200-individual medley at 2:19.13 and the 100-breaststroke with a 1:09.84. Amanda Schwerdtman won the 500-freestyle at 5:40.85 and was second in the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:32.31.
Abbi Strennen finished second in the 100-freestyle at 59.22. Alyssa Gesek was second in the 200-freestyle at 2:11.30. King's 200-medley relay team of Noelle Pedersen, Siwy, Kaelyn Gardner, and Strennan were winners in 1:57.52
For the men, Dan Weekes won the 50-freestyle with a 21.79 and the 100-freestyle at 48.75. Rhyce Hammaker captured the 100-breaststroke at 1:03.25. Tyler Higgins won the 1000-freestyle with a 10:33.19.
Jason Yerger was second in the 100-backstroke at 57.77. Bryce Groshardt was second in the 200-individual medley with a 2:04.15 and in the 500-freestyle at 5:06.60. Chris Michael was second in the 100-breaststroke with a 1:04.85.
King's 200-freestyle relay team of Weeks, Hammaker, Michael, and Groshardt were winners with a time of 1:30.98.
King's returns to the pool Saturday with a 1:00 PM matchup at Cabrini College.
