KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER WINS SEASON OPENER WITH 3-1 WIN OVER PENN COLLEGE
WILLIAMSPORT — The King's College women's soccer team made its 2017 season debut a successful one with a 3-1 victory over Penn College of Technology Friday night in Williamsport.
King's opened the scoring just 4:29 into the game when
Danielle Putnam scored off a pass from
Stephanie Corea, The score grew to 2-0 at the 22:30 mark when
Emily Harrington converted a pass from
Marissa Dare.
After Penn College cut the lead to 2-1 on a Dominique Broan goal at the 28:21 mark, King's put the game away when
Allison Andrew found the back of the net off an
Abby Smith assist at 57.26 for the final goal of the game.
King's outshot Penn College 7-2 and held an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Jess Schenfeld made one save in the contest.
The Lady Monarchs make their home debut Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Matchup with Clarks Summit University at McCarthy Stadium.
