KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER SUFFERS FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON TO UNBEATEN SUSQUEHANNA, 2-1
SELINSGROVE— The host Susquehanna University women's soccer team broke open a 1-1 tie with 12:48 remaining as the Crusaders remained unbeaten with a 2-1 victory over visiting King's College Wednesday in Selinsgrove. With the win Susquehanna improved to 4-0-1 while King's suffered its first loss of the year in slipping to 3-1.
King's took a 1-0 lead at the half when
Stephanie Corea struck net off a header off an assist on a corner kick from
Kristen Ryan. The Crusaders knotted the score at 6:00 into the second stanza on an unassisted goal by Emily Sullivan.
Susquehanna pushed across what proved to be the winning goal at the 77:12 mark on an unassisted score from Colbie Cummings.
The Crusaders ended the game holding a 12-3 advantage in shots while also owning a 6-5 lead in corner kicks. KIng's goalie
Jess Schenfeld made three saves in the game while Crusader keeper did not make a single save.
King's returns to the field Saturday with a 6:00 PM matchup at Albright College in Reading.
