King's Women's Soccer Falls to Misericordia, 2-0

KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO MISERICORDIA, 2-0

WILKES-BARRE -- The visiting Misericordia University women's soccer team used one goal in half to register a 2-0 victory over host King's College in a Saturday night Freedom Conference matchup at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win Misericordia improved to 7-2-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play while King's slipped to 4-3-2 and 0-1. 

The Cougars took a 1-0 lead at the 34;28 mark when Jordyn Martini scored on a penalty kick after being fouled at the outside order of the box.

Misericordia pushed across the final score of the game at 56:36 on a goal by Jackie  Stevens.

The Cougars had 10 shots on goal compared to one for King's. Lady Monarch goalie Jess Schenfeld tied her career high with eight saves in the game for the Monarchs.

King's will be idle until Saturday when the Monarchs host Manhattanville  in a 5:00 PM matchup.
